Top Cherry Blossoms Spots in Osaka, Japan

Flower viewing(Hanami) during spring season is part of Japan’s rich and colorful culture, custom and tradition. It is one of the most anticipated season by locals and foreigners alike. Parks during sakura(cherry blossoms) season are packed with people strolling or picnicking under the blooming sakura trees.  In Osaka, the second largest city in Japan, parks and shrines are popular destinations for cherry blossoms viewing.

Here are my top list of places for cherry blossoms viewing in Osaka.

1. OSAKA CASTLE & IT’S NISHINOMARU GARDEN

With over 4000 cherry trees planted around the castle, the Nishinomaru Garden is one of the famous spots for Hanami goers. The garden is said to have 600 cherry trees planted on it. It was also where the residence of the 16th century Japanese ruler’s wife (Toyotomi Hideyoshi) was formerly located and the garden was first opened to the public in 1965.

“Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.”-Psalm 103:13-18
