Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast- (Italian: Costiera Amalfitana) is a stretch of coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea, located in the Gulf of Salerno in Southern Italy. It is a major tourist destination for the region and Italy as a whole and attracts droves of tourists. It’s featured in shows and movies and has a level of prestige that draws you to it.

The Amalfi Coast Drive

It is a rough road with steeps turns for its entirety but its one of those classic drives much like driving the coast of California on Highway 1 that has many rewards. It has quant little coffee shops, pottery stores, small villages and breathtaking views. The journey is slow but if you are here and you made it this far, what’s your hurry anyways? So put on your cognac leather driving gloves and put the top down.

Positano

Positano - The colorful houses hang to the side of the mountain. This town is small but posh and was one of the most enjoyable on the coast. You will find plenty of fashion and souvenir shopping and great places to eat. Also a lot of good people watching since the rich mingle with us mere mortals.

This is where the opening seen from The Talented Mr. Ripley was filmed.

I wandered onto what appeared to be a fashion shoot so I just started taking pictures like I was supposed to be there. They gave me some awkward looks but I wasn’t concerned and after a minute neither were they.

Amalfi

Amalfi- beautiful town is a mixture of history, tradition, superb Campania cuisine, pretty shops and stunning views.

This beautiful mosaic church was one of the first here and is amazing inside and out and right at the base of the steps lies pizza, beer and a naked woman fountain that shoots water from her breasts…..I love Europe! They have their priorities together.

Ravello

Ravello- Ravello (Campanian: Raviello, Reviello) is a town and comune situated above the Amalfi Coast in the province of Salerno, Campania, Southern Italy, with approximately 2,500 inhabitants. Its scenic location makes it a popular tourist destination, and earned it a listing as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city center looks like a scene from Under The Tuscan Sun…probably because it was.

Amalfi Coast By Sea

This place is extraordinary because of the water so it only makes sense to take a boat ride. The town of Amalfi offers many different options from fishing to sightseeing to a booze cruise. Whichever options fits your fancy just make sure you get out there because it is spectacular.
