Mexico- Los Barriles

Los Barriles-Sea of Cortez- After a quick stop in Dallas we made it Los Cabo’s. After getting the rental we took the one hour drive northeast and arrived in Los Barriles. Here is blue waters, here is gentle breeze, here is perfect. We found the house in good working order. Aside from losing the lemon tree, the landscape is perfect and the palms are going strong. It is finally time to unwind.

Palmas Hotel- Los Barriles- It was a “rise and shine” to meet the captain. We wasted no time and sped off into the horizon. The lines were hitting early and often and in the end the well was full. It was a full day, 7 hours, but the rewards were well worth it......Red Snapper and Pompano galore!

This is the perfect property. The wind was blowing in off the sea but I found a calm hour to send the drone up to take some pics. I have no fish pics today because the one I caught was so big it dragged the kayak 2 miles and broke the pole in half, the kayak was too small to bring him on board.

God was speaking to me this morning. We don’t speak the same language sometimes so it’s hard to understand the message. I got up early and went outside, I stared up for hours. Shooting stars lit up the sky from one end to another. The brightest objects in the sky, Jupiter and Saturn, hung heaviest. That was until the moon shot up like a fireball over the water in the eastern horizon. Maybe Gods just saying I’m out here and that is the message.

Sierra Laguna Range- You can see the mountains from town and I couldn’t not go. We headed north up the coast and found a nice spot to hike. Cacti, golden eagles, desert, views of the sea, zero people.....perfect!

Kayak Fishing- Every morning when the fish begin to bite, the cows come marching down. I’m not sure if the cows let the fish know it’s breakfast or the other way around but there is definitely chatter between the groups. Trigger fish are plentiful and make “ceviche” lunch apart of the daily regiment. Not sure why Bill was after this toothy snake but it was fun to watch him remove it from the line.
