Vermont

Vermont is located in the northeast United States and it is known for making maple syrup, at least in my mind. It is mostly wild forests and has a great outdoorsy feel to it. They have unlimted mountanous areas to explore, hike, ski and just get back in touch with nature. As a visitor you will find the small towns dotted accross the landscape charming and the amount of old wooden bridges is worth pulling over for a look see. The amount of small business found here is both surprising and impressive. For one of the smaller states with one of the smaller populations, there is a lot going on here.

Ben & Jerry’s-A good visit here starts with a pint of half-baked and if you dont mind a short wait you can get it as fresh as it comes. These guys have built a small empire here and as far as attractions go you get a nice reward for stopping by. Don’t pay attention to the politics pay attention to the ice cream.

Vermont Teddy Bear- is located in Shelburne, Vermont and is of the largest producers of teddy bears and the largest seller of teddy bears by mail order and Internet. The company makes over half a million bears each year in Vermont. Make sure you get the classic bears in the gift shop, they cost more but they are American made…..they do sell cheap Chinese bears in the gift shop!

Next we hit every small town and shop in the state. Apple cider festivals, sharp cheddar makers, teddy bears and furniture woodworkers.

Finally we reached the the banks of Lake Champlain in the city of Burlington. This city is small but sophisticated and charming. Right on the waterfront you will find a scenic boardwalk and sailboats docked yet ready to be taken out for adventure.
