Freycinet NP

Freycinet National Park- hugs the Eastern Coast of Tasmania and is home to the famous Wineglass Bay. It has great white sand beaches and dramatic rocky coves. My interest was in “the Hazards” a granite mountain range that sprouts right out of the water. This place is one of Tasmania’s most popular national parks but you can easily find a spot alone to find some alone time and gather your thoughts which for me is the purpose of a national park. Freycinet is an inspiring, thought provoking place and should not be missed.

The Drive to Freycinet- This drive will knock your socks off. As you cruise down the Tasman Highway on A3 you come across a winery called The Devils Corner, it is worth a stop. The wine is decent and the views are spectacular!

There were many stops along the way and little hikes to take that were part of the park. Get out of the car to stretch a bit, walk about, take in the views and snap a few pictures and then journey on.

I thought this was an interesting boulder and wandered how this thing that was the size of a cargo van was stable enough to balance without falling off and rolling down the hill? Then I thought why am I standing directly underneath, in what was certainly the path this boulder would most definitely roll, if it did in fact decide to?

On another hike, located on the side of a steep mountain, there was interesting, cozy lounge chair that seemed so out of place yet so perfect.

Bay of Fire

The rocks and boulders have a red lichen growing on them that glows a bright red even on an overcast day like we had. Waves crash against them in particular order or fashion and put on a display that is quite enjoyable to sit back and take
