Around Ireland

Cliffs of Moher

Sits around 400 feet above the Atlantic Ocean on Irelands rugged west coast.

O'Brien's Tower- Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher offers breathtaking cliffs with gorgeous views of the Atlantic, lime green grass and many birds. It’s fun to gaze over the edge and take a hit of the wind gusting off the sides with its aromatic sea flavor. Seasoned travelers and Irish people you talk to say there are much better spots and Moher is an overcrowded spot for tourists. This maybe true but I very much enjoyed it and it was a box that required a check. I would recommend a visit.

The cliffs have been featured in many movies including Harry Potter, The Princess Bride, Leap Year, and many more.

Blarney Castle

No visit to Ireland is complete without a kiss of the Blarney Stone and to attain that you must climb to the top of the castle. Blarney originally dates a little before 1200 and was built from timber but a few decades later this was replaced by a stone fortification. Just short of 100 feet tall it has survived wars, pillages and a few change of ownerships. The grounds are pristine and well kept and the property is surrounded by a lush forest and tranquil stream.

The current castle was updated in 1446 and became everything a medieval stronghold should be. The keep is fortified, has secret passages and rooms, has a spot in the master suite to keep your daughter out of harms way and underground dungeon to keep and store supplies and your enemies. The front door also has a trap with which you can drop your enemies or mouthy friends into.

The Blarney Stone is a 4’ chunk of limestone that has sat atop the castle since 1446.

Fact-If you kiss the stone you will receive the gift to gab and possess the ability to speak with great eloquence and flattery.
