Amboseli
Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species.
The Kori Bustard is the heaviest flying bird on the planet, which it seems fully aware of. It walks the dusty plains of Amboseli at its own unhurried pace, stopping occasionally to puff up that remarkable neck and crest as if reminding everyone in the vicinity who they're dealing with. Lions and leopards tend to leave them alone, which is probably a wise call given the sheer size and attitude of the thing. The ostrich operates on similar terms…standing nearly nine feet tall and capable of running thirty miles an hour, it is less a bird and more a bad decision for anything that considers bothering it. Together they share the open plains of Amboseli with the kind of quiet confidence that comes from simply being too large and too unbothered to worry about much of anything.
As far as I am concerned there is no other place to stay in Amboseli.
This is it, look no further, book it, be done. Word.
