Bali Temples

Barong Mask

Barong is a panther-like creature and character in the Balinese mythology of Bali, Indonesia. He is the king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders in the mythological traditions of Bali. The battle between Barong and Rangda is featured in the Barong dance to represent the eternal battle between good and evil. Barong animal mask dance, together with sanghyang dance are considered native Balinese dances, probably predating Hindu influences.

Temples of Bali

There is no shortage of temples in Bali, there are more than 10,000 of them across the country.

One of the things Bali is most famous for are its Hindu temples, and there seems to be one at every turn. In fact, every village is required by law to have at least 3 temples. This is also strange because Indonesia is a majority Muslim country.

Ubud

This is a perfect example of a classic temple and should be considered on your list of spiritual places to visit.
