Plitvice Lakes
The full loop runs about 11.4 miles, much of it along wooden boardwalks skimming right over the water, with a boat crossing and a shuttle bus thrown in to cover the rest of the ground. Good shoes are non-negotiable, and so is patience, since the boardwalks put you close enough to watch trout hover like they are posing for a postcard.
