Soulard

Known for its blues scene, buzzing Soulard has raucous bars with live music alongside casual pizzerias, down-to-earth Southern restaurants and seafood spots serving oysters and crawfish. Established in 1779, Soulard Farmers Market displays a colorful spread of produce, meats and cheeses, while the huge, 19th-century Anheuser-Busch Brewery offers tours. The area’s lively annual Mardi Gras parade draws big crowds.

The Soulard Neighborhood

The neighborhood homes were built with the grandeur of times past and the architecture on some of these houses is breathtaking.

All hail the king

Budweiser, the king of beers, is nestled right in the middle of Soulard. AB was the undisputed leader of he world for beer brewing but fell from grace when it was taken over. It was a sad day for the city of St. Louis, the state of Missouri and the entire country. It also took a huge hit in 2023 when it was captured by woke ideology and the hugely controversial ad campaign of trans activist Dylan Mulvaney. Despite all of this it is still a world leader and makes up huge part of area.

MARDi Gras

Mardi Gras takes place in February which in St. Louis means it is cold af. Some years you catch a break and get a few hours of okay weather and other years it snows. Alcohol is drank in excess for survival in those tougher times.

Mardi Gras is a young mans game. As you get older your tolerance for nonsense shrinks considerably. It becomes a spectator sport but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the affair you just won’t drink 6 hurricanes, a dozen tall beers and throw up on yourself. You’ll much more watching others do that.
