Rhode Island

Rhode Island is located in the north east and considered the New England region of the United States. It was one of the original 13 colonies and the first to say no to King George. In the spring of 1776 it officially declared it was no longer aligned to Great Britain. Fun fact speaking of official, its official name was The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations since that time up until November of 2020 when it changed its name to the State of Rhode Island. Its called the Ocean State since such a large portion of the state is on the water.

Rhode Island- Yes it’s the smallest state but what else do we know about RI? Well we now know it’s amazing! Small fishing towns dot the coastline and we stopped in one called Warwick.

Dining

Dining- The marina was filled with captains bringing in fresh Quahog (hardshell clam) and selling it directly to the best restaurant in town, “Crow’s Nest”. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter, a large platter of clams, bay scallops, fish and shrimp. Let me tell you, this place is the best! https://crowsnestri.com

Newport Mansions

These massive estates were built by oil barrons, coal magnates and shipping titans. This place was the “Summer Whitehouse” for JFK and Eisenhower. Newport is the essence of wealth and sophistication….old money. I think it’s time to change my name to Nathan Vanderbilt.

Fountains and Statues

If your gonna have a mega mansion it obviously has to be directly on the water or what’s the point? It also is not complete without a garden equipped with a bold statue and or giant fountain to display your power to the world.
