Casablanca
Casablanca, known by its Arabic name Dar al-Bayda is the largest city in Morocco and the country's economic and business center. It is located in northwest Africa nestled right on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
The town was occupied by the French in 1907, and during the French protectorate (1912–56) Casablanca became the chief port of Morocco.
Casablanca was the site of the Berrechid Airfield, a large American air base used as the staging area for all American aircraft for the European Theatre of Operations during World War II. The airfield has since become Mohammed V International Airport.
Casablanca has a population of roughly 4.5 million in the metro Casablanca region, making it the eighth-largest in the Arab world.
Casablanca Beach
An African beach in a majority Muslim country might be different for you if you grew up at going to a western beach. It is mostly men but that’s not to say women are not there, you just will not see them in bikinis. They are modest and covered with sleeves and long pants.
It is a beach so you will find sand and an ocean but it is a completely different vibe and the focus is on the serenity of the water. Groups of young boys kicking around a soccer ball is abundant but girls with string riding up their exterior, slapping balls over a net is nonexistent.
The most distinctive feature of the Hassan II Mosque is its minaret, which stands at a height of 210 meters (689 feet). It is the tallest minaret in the world and can be seen from miles away. The minaret's laser light at the top shines toward Mecca, providing a powerful and symbolic sight at night.
4 Seasons Hotel
The 4 Seasons always lives up to her name. The location is prime right on the beach and has a clean look on the exterior. The service is exceptional from the front door till your bags are set down in the room. They have a classy Moroccan design in the lobby which flows well to the dinning hall and thru out the entire hotel. The rooms are large and beds are the kind that put you to sleep in less than a moment. Pool area is superb and the beach access is protected by armed guards and dogs that are very capable if commanded so. Exceptional hotel and very safe………Would highly recommend to a friend.
Casablanca is Morocco's chief port and one of the largest artificial ports in the world and is considered the largest financial center in Africa.
