Chattanooga

Chattanooga’s riverfront is the kind of place that makes you slow down whether you planned to or not, like it’s got a gentle hold on your shoulder saying, “Easy now.” The Tennessee River rolls on by like it’s in no hurry whatsoever, and next thing you know you’re strolling along the path pretending you’ve got somewhere to be, but not putting up much of a fight about it. Benches seem to appear right when your legs start thinking about unionizing, the breeze does most of the work keeping you comfortable, and the whole scene just sort of hums along without asking for attention. You’ll spot folks biking, wandering, sitting, and generally minding their own peaceful business, and before long you’re doing the same thing, wondering why life isn’t always this simple.
