Rocky Mountain

Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. Here you will find an endless supply of hikes and trails. Bring your boots and find a nice walking stick, don’t forget to breath in with your nose and out with your mouth. Its just good practice plus this place smells like Yankee Candle Christmas Pine Forest.

The park has a total land area of 265,461 acres and was established as a national park on January 26, 1915.

You don’t have to climb to the top Mount Elbert at 14,433 feet ( the tallest peak at the park) to enjoy mountain climbing. Plenty of small boulders along the trails make for a fun time.

Yellows and oranges pop against the dark mountain side and stand proud beside the green pines.

You can definitely find serenity at Rocky Mountain.

The Stanley Hotel

The Stanley Hotel is the hotel from the move “The Shining”or at least inspired by it. It is located in Estes Park just 5 miles from Rocky NP and is a great place to stay if your heading into the park.

After the movie, the Stanley Hotel gained a reputation for paranormal activity. The hotel appeared on the tv show Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.

I aint scared of no ghosts! False. I get spooked very easy and this place is spooky but I did enjoy my time here.
