Chena Hot Springs Resort
It is a natural hot springs that they built a resort around but it is not posh even in slightest. They grow their own food, have an ice bar full of sculptures (bedroom of ice if you so choose), a competitive dog sled team, an old cargo plane, reindeer running all over and a perfect location to see the Northern Lights.
If you are looking for a resort to be pampered with Egyptian 1200 thread count sheets keep looking.

Sled Dogs
We got to meet some champion caliber dogs, they were tough but happy as could be to meet us. The dogs train all year for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. It is 1000 mile long race that runs in March from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. Each participant starts with 14 dogs and you must have at least 5 of those by the end. It generally takes racers 8–15 days to dredge thru blizzards, whiteouts, temps below zero and windchills of −110. It is intense!
Reindeers
This is not the North Pole but you are near the Arctic Circle so close enough. The reindeer (Rangifer tarandus), also known as caribou is a species of deer native to the northern half of Alaska.
Aurora Ice Bar
The moment you walk into Aurora your senses go into overload. Cold is not the word and even though they give you an outfit to wear that only works for so long. It doesn’t matter you are in wonderland.
Ice Sculpting
Is a lot of work to say the least and there are a lot tools involved. Just like any art it is a craft that takes a great deal of time but the results are stunning. The use of lights behind a finished work is the finishing tough that really makes them pop.
Bedroom Suite- The bed and bedroom is made of all ice and it is much warmer and more comfortable than you might think.
