St. Louis
St. Louis Places
St. Louis is located in the state of Missouri and sits on the banks of the Mississippi River.
It has a population of around 300,000 but the metropolitan area is around 3 million, making it the 20th-largest metropolitan in the United States.
Gateway Arch
The Gateway Arch is the signature landmark of St. Louis and in 2020 it became a national park. It got this nickname “Gateway to the West” in the 1800s because this is where would stop for any last minute supplies as you ventured west to travel and settle. Other stops were available but this was the last major post that had all your needs on your journey West.

Laumeier Sculpture Park
This sculpture park is just south of the city in the Sunset Hills municipality. Its a pretty good place to spend a few hours. It’s famous for the "big blue eyeball". Not sure how I feel about it, what are your thoughts?
Missouri Botanical Gardens
The botanical garden is a 79 acre landscape paradise that began in 1859. It is one of the finest gardens in the world and worth a visit. Even in the winter there is something to see.
Neighborhoods
Many STL neighborhoods were built by German immigrants. Their use of brick and limestone block is distinct contrast and an easy way to decipher its origins. Beautiful little candy cane mansions and old world style mixed with 19th and early 20th century style.
